A West Virginia TV news meteorologist has been charged with misdemeanor battery after a physical altercation with another anchor at the same station.
According to the Gazette-Mail, anchor Erica Bivens of Charleston, W.V., local station WSAZ accused on-air weather forecaster Chelsea Ambriz of shoving her to the ground. Bivens said she suffered a ruptured eardrum and skull fracture during the altercation.
The fight started at a local bar after Bivens accused Ambriz of hitting on her husband, according to a police report obtained by local station FTV Live. Ambriz, the report said, then “became irate and began to shove” Bivens, causing them both to fall to the ground near the bar.
