Sarah Palin was less than thrilled after apparently being duped into giving an interview to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for his new Showtime gig. Cohen, posing as a disabled vet, landed an interview with the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate. According to Palin, she and daughter Piper flew across the country to sit down for what they believed to be an interview for a historical documentary about veterans’ issues.
“Yup — we were duped,” she writes. "Ya’ got me, Sacha. Feel better now? I join a long list of American public personalities who have fallen victim to the evil, exploitive, sick ‘humor’ of the British ‘comedian’ Sacha Baron Cohen, enabled and sponsored by CBS / Showtime." WOW...she's pissed.
Cohen apparently went all out, totally disguised as a disabled U.S. Veteran with a fake wheelchair and all. The prank was taped for his upcoming Showtime series, “Who Is America?” Palin called on Showtime to donate the proceeds of the show to veterans groups, which she accused Cohen of mocking. Showtime hadn't responded at press time.
