AVENGED SEVENFOLD have announced the cancellation of their upcoming summer tour, as lead singer M. Shadows is under doctor’s orders to rest his damaged vocal cords.

Shadows wrote in a letter posted to avengedsevenfold.com, “After our European tour, I came down with a terrible viral infection that rendered me voiceless. A blood blister has formed on my vocal folds and is preventing them from vibrating properly. Luckily, doctors feel that three months of no singing and voice rest should get my cords back on track.”
