Marilyn Manson's New York City gig this weekend ended with him in the hospital. The rocker was 45 minutes into his set when he and his band launched into their cover of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).”
At one point, Manson climbed a podium, surrounded by two giant fake pistols, that was center stage. The podium wobbled, causing Manson to fall backward. Then, the entire prop fell upon him. Manson's band kept playing for several moments until they noticed the singer was not getting up. Eventually, the lights came up and it was announced the show had been cancelled.
Now another nine shows have been cancelled, beginning with tonight in Boston and running through Manson's Houston show on October 14th. According to Manson's rep, those gigs will be rescheduled as "Manson hopes to return to the stage soon."
