After an 11 year absence, suergroup Audioslave has momentarily reunited. Tom Morello, Chris Cornell, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk performed 3 tunes together during Friday night’s Anti-Inaugural Ball at The Teregram Ballroom in Los Angeles.
Donald Trump proved to be the inspiration for the reunion as well as the event, which Tom Morello described as a celebration of resistance. “Resistance to racism. Resistance to sexism. Resistance to homophobia. Resistance to bullying. Resistance to environmental devastation. Resistance to fascism. Resistance to Donald Trump." His message to the crowd: "Don't agonize, organize." As you know, Rage Against the Machine were long time activists so its not surprising the guys would take a stand on the Inauguration.
Also performing at the gig was the Audioslave side project Prophets of Rage, which includes rapper Chuck D. Jack Black, Jackson Brown and Vic Mensa hit the stage as well.
Its unknown if the band plans on any more gigs. Cornell is busy with a new Soundgarden recording, and Morello and the other band members are focused on Prophets of Rage.
