Solange Performs 'Don't Touch My Hair' & 'Cranes In The Sky' On 'SNL'

Solange sang "Cranes In The Sky" and "Don't Touch My Hair" on this week’s “SNL.” "Cranes In The Sky" is the first single she released from her new album A Seat At The Table, and "Don't Touch My Hair" is the second.

This marks the first time Solange has been the musical guest on “SNL.” Her sister Beyoncé has had the honor twice before. Beyoncé’s first stint as the musical guest was in 2003, and then she returned in 2008. Solange's appearance on the late-night program comes on the heels of the release last month of A Seat At The Table, which Solange worked on over the course of four years.

The music video for “Cranes In The Sky” features Solange in various indoor and outdoor locations, wearing a variety of eye-catching dresses in different colors. At times, she’s seen singing the song alone, and in other shots she’s joined by a group of women, whose outfits are color-coordinated with Solange’s clothes.

The music video for “Don’t Touch My Hair” features Solange and other dancers with various hairstyles in several different locations, both outdoors and indoors. The video begins with Solange’s hair in braids, but is later seen in other styles, including just naturally and in flapper-style curls. Both videos were directed by Solange and her husband Alan Ferguson.

Since being uploaded on October 2, the video for “Cranes In The Sky” has been viewed more than 5.6 million times on YouTube. Also, the video for “Don’t Touch My Hair” has been viewed more than 7.7 million times.
